Faculty Application
About the program:
The goal of the Berkeley Summer Bioengineering Research Program is to
facilitate intensive, faculty-led research experiences in bioengineering
for undergraduates at UC Berkeley. The 2008 BSBRP program will be primarily
a matchmaking and administrative program, finding outstanding students
to work full-time in your lab this summer.
How it works
- Faculty fill out the form below to submit:
- Description of your research or a specific project
- Description of desired student qualifications
- The maximum number of applications you want
- Guidance to help staff narrow down the list of applicants
- Students apply to a maximum of 3 faculty, applications due March
18
- Staff can narrow down list of applicants and pass final applications
to faculty for student selection
- Faculty select top three choices for summer student
- MUST select students who have submitted applications through the Program
- Staff notify students of selection, finalize program details
- Students work in faculty labs June 2- August 8
- Faculty may set individual start and end dates with students if desired,
as long as paid work time is 10 weeks.
- Faculty pay student stipends of $3,300, transferred to department
for disbursal.
- Students will be asked to prepare a poster for the Bioengineering
Summer Student Research Symposium, a presentation of research results
to faculty, students, and industry on August 8. Please plan to attend.

due
March 18 - student applications due. All
students must submit applications.
March- Faculty review student applications
June 2 to August 8 - Students work on research
August 8 - Annual Poster Session. Please plan to attend
and support to your researcher
