We seek to fill one post-doctoral position supported by a NIH Institutional Training Grant (T32 AR052272). Mentors have expertise in cell and molecular biology of bone/cartilage tissue injury, repair and regeneration, orthopedic biomechanics and biomaterials. We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in developmental biology, bioinformatics and gene regulatory networks for studies of tissue repair. The training grant includes faculty from several departments (Anatomy & Cell Biology, Orthopedic Surgery, Internal Medicine and Biochemistry). PhD candidates should have demonstrated research ability and previous peer-reviewed publications. MD or DVM candidates may have less direct research experience. Rush University Medical Center is an academic health center located just west of downtown Chicago. Rush University includes medical, nursing, health science and graduate colleges. Arthritis and orthopedic related research is conducted in 4 major academic units: Anatomy & Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Orthopedic Surgery, and Rheumatology. There are over 25 principal investigators based at Rush with overlapping interests. If interested, please contact Dr. Sumner at the address below. Please note that since this is a NIH training grant, candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
