Job: R&D Internship Key Skills: Basic understanding of the biology research workplace, knowledge of common cell biology techniques, quantitative analytical skills, attention to detail, strong organizational habits, and ability to learn novel methods. Summary: The R&D Internship is a paid summer (full time) position to characterize, validate, document, and develop microfluidic array plates for cell biology applications. This position is designed to provide a well‐rounded experience in microfluidics R&D, with tasks encompassing engineering, biological testing, and technical communication. The intern will present (oral and written) scientific findings and hypotheses at regular meetings with senior personnel. This position is ideal for undergraduates or recent graduates looking for a fast paced learning environment, hands‐on research experience, a unique blend of science and engineering, and a dynamic startup atmosphere. Duties: Major: Characterize and document physical and biological properties of microfluidic devices. Collect, analyze, evaluate, and present scientific information to management to motivate more informed technical and business decisions. Maintain organized records of experiment protocols and data. Qualifications: Major: 2+ years of undergraduate education in bioengineering (or related field), or 1‐2 years experience in a related field. Prior exposure to “hands‐on” research in a laboratory environment. Self‐motivated and capable of meeting goals without extensive supervision.
