Seung-Wuk Lee's Paper Among Society’s ‘Top 5’
May 2007

A paper by Bioengineering Assistant Professor Seung-Wuk Lee was chosen as one of the "Top 5 Hot Talks / Cool Papers" at the 2007 Materials Research Society Spring Meeting, held in San Francisco in April.

Seung-Wuk LeeLee's presentation, "Directed Evolution of Hydroxyapatite-Associated Protein Using Phage Display", was selected for the award from among over 3,300 oral and poster presentations. He and his group have used phage display to study the local chemistry that occurs during bone formation. They found that minor changes in the acidity or pH of the environment can dramatically alter the proteins that are formed and they have used this new knowledge to form three-dimensional bone-like materials.

Congratulations Lee!
