BioE grad students fight crime in Florida

Bioengineering graduate student in Professor Rich Mathies' lab made the news in Florida this month, testing out a mobile DNA analysis device developed in their lab.

Stephanie Yeung and Peng Liu traveled to Palm Beach the week of July 11 to work with their collaborators in the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office forensics department. The new device is a Forensic Genetic Analyzer, developed by Mathies, could get DNA profiles from crime scene evidence up to three times faster than current techniques.
