Luke Lee lab cover story for culture and lysis on a chip
December 2007

Researchers in Bioengineering Professor Luke Lee's lab have discovered a technique that integrates microfluidic cell culture and lysis platform for automated cell analysis that improves on systems which require multiple reagents and manual procedures. Their article made the cover of the December 2007 Lab on a Chip journal.

ImageThe method utilizes an integrated microfluidic platform capable of culturing HeLa, MCF-7, Jurkat, and CHO-K1 cells for up to five days and subsequently lysing the cells without the need to add lysing reagents.

Other researchers on the team are Bioengineering Ph.D. students Tanner Nevill and David Breslauer, Bioengineering undergraduate student Ryan Cooper, and Bioengineering lecturer Megan Dueck.
