BioEngineering Co-Op Program Student Information
Looking for REAL industry experience?
Now you can do a 6-7 month extended internship at a leading biotech company through the Bioengineering Cooperative Education Internship Program!
All majors from the College of Engineering, College of Chemistry and College of Letters and Science are welcome. (Other majors should contact the program coordinator to arrange approval with your college.)
The Co-op program is currently running Summer/Fall internships only. New positions will be posted in Spring 2010 on the Co-Op Jobs page.
How does it work? If you are hired for a co-op position, you are guaranteed readmission to the university after you withdraw for one semester plus the summer (Summer/Fall). We will facilitate the entire process and you get to have a rewarding and valuable experience working in industry before you graduate.
Benefits to you: • A great opportunity for extended internship experience! • Guaranteed readmission at end of internship (if you are in good academic standing) • Exempt from curriculum changes enacted while withdrawn (in Colleges of Engineering and Chemistry) • Help with withdrawal and readmission
Details: • Housing and transit are NOT provided • Salary is negotiated with the corporate employer • Students must return to school for at least one semester after internship • Must have completed Freshman year (or one semester for transfer students) to apply • Overall GPA of 2.3 or higher, upper division technical GPA of 2.0, not on academic probation • Due to new visa regulations, international students will generally not be eligible
