Research Interests Inertial and biomedical sensors, micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), analog IC design. Research Summary I develop systems that combine sensors with integrated electronic circuits to achieve better accuracy, smaller size, lower power dissipation, and in some cases new functionality that is not available from other approaches. Recent projects include a an electronic lab-on-a-chip for ELISA like protein assays. It relies on micron-sized magnetic beads as the interface between proteins and electronic detection circuits. We are using it to detect the Dengue virus, a third world disease, and are working towards extending it to HIV testing and the simultaneous detection of multiple targets. Selected Publications
