Bioengineering Undergraduate Advising Procedure
1. In Bioengineering all students must see their Faculty Advisers to obtain their advising code to register for classes. It is important that you see your faculty adviser during the specified dates of faculty advising meetings. The faculty are available and have scheduled meetings to meet  with you to discuss your courses and to give your advising code. It is not advisable to wait after the Faculty Advising period to obtain your advising code. The faculty have made adjustments in their schedules to accommodate faculty advising and are more readily available. If you do not see them during this time their busy schedules may make it more difficult to get an appointment which can result in missing your Phase 1 appointment.

Who is my Faculty Advisor?
A listing of all the Faculty Advisors are posted on the Bioenginering Bulletin Board, 306 Stanley Hall.   If your name does not appear on the list you will need to go to the College of Engineering, Students Services, 308 McLaughlin and they will be able to advise you.

2. Group or Individual Advising- All Faculty Advisers will be meeting with their advisees in a group.
Group Advising: The group advising dates, times and locations will be sent in an email.
Individual Advising: If you can not attend one of the group meetings and would prefer to make an individual appointment please contact the Faculty Adviser directly or stop by during their office hours. You can find the office hours on the BioE website: http://bioeng.berkeley.edu/bioepeople/officehours.php

What to do to register:
1.   Do some preliminary thinking about what courses to take.

2.   See your Faculty Adviser to discuss your program. (If you do not know who your faculty adviser is you can check in 308 McLaughlin Hall.) TAKE YOUR DEGREE CHECK AND A COPY OF YOUR BEAR FACTS UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT WITH YOU.

3.   Complete your Tele-BEARS Schedule form (also available in 308 McLaughlin Hall and have your Faculty Adviser sign it at the Group Advising Meeting.

4.   Your Faculty Adviser will give you your adviser code.

5.   Turn in your white copy of the Tele-BEARS Schedule form to 308 McLaughlin Hall. (Failure to do this may result in the blocking of your registration).

6.   Register for courses through Tele-BEARS.

7.   Report any changes to your technical program to your Student Affairs Adviser.

8. NOTE: If E 190 is required for your major, please be warned that it is very difficult to enroll in the course. Do not leave this course to your last semester or if you do, be sure to make it a priority course in phase I. Please be advised that you must take the placement test at the appropriate time before the class begins. Information on the placement test can be obtained in 230 Bechtel. You will not be allowed to take the course if you have not taken the test.

** Graduating Seniors should make an appointment with their Student Affairs Adviser in 308 McLaughlin for a FINAL DEGREE CHECK **
