Hi, my name is Sandya Subramanian and I’m an Assistant Professor at a new bi-campus Ph.D. program, the UC Berkeley-UCSF Division of Computational Precision Health. I’m writing to encourage you to apply to our current cycle of Ph.D. admissions that just opened!
We’re looking for students excited about the intersection of engineering/ML/AI/stats, health/medicine/public health, and translation – from a wide array of disciplinary backgrounds. You don’t have to be a computer scientist, as long as you have a strong foundation in computation/math/stats from either coursework and/or research. (Engineering curriculum + computational research experience is more than enough!) In fact, my formal training and background is in engineering (you can check out what I do on my website).
Our application just opened and will close on December 3. If you would like to learn more about this Ph.D. program or have questions about whether your interests fall under the CPH umbrella, I’m happy to chat with you! Please email me at sandyas@berkeley.edu and we can find a time.
