Banerjea and Krish named Goldwater Scholars!
Congratulations to undergraduate bioengineers Arul Banerjea and Devon Krish, both new recipients of the prestigious Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship.
Banerjea is a double major in Bioengineering and Molecular & Cellular Biology, works in the Tjian-Darzacq lab on single-molecule imaging and live-cell assays for Rett syndrome, and devotes time to raising funds for children affected by a parent’s cancer. Krish is a double major in Bioengineering and EECS and works with Dr. Jon Kleen at UCSF on decoding neural signals from brain implants to understand epilepsy and cognition. He hopes to pursue an MD/PhD and a career in neurosurgery .
The Barry Goldwater Scholarship Program was created to encourage outstanding students to pursue careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering and to foster excellence in those fields. Congratulations Arul and Devon!
