Heart-on-a-chip Technology, Healy Lab
As the tissue beats in this tiny microfluidic device (~1mm long!), it blinks like a traffic light due to a genetically engineered reporter in the cells comprising the tissue, allowing for us to make electrophysiology measurements. The device holds promise for drug-screening and patient-specific disease modeling. Nikko Jeffreys
