December graduate Tim Wang has been named recipient of the 2010 Departmental Citation in Bioengineering.
The Departmental Citation Award is the highest honor the department can bestow upon an undergraduate, and is awarded to only one student each year in recognition of distinguished undergraduate work. Past winners include: Kate Liddle – 2009, Widya Mulyasasmita – 2008, Timothy Lee – 2007, Elizabeth Hua-Mei Kellogg – 2006, Hedi Razavi – 2005, Ryan Doan – 2004, Nathaniel Huebsch – 2003, Shelly Levy-Tzedek – 2002, Dino DiCarlo – 2001, and Benjamin Pelletier – 2000.
Tim has conducted research in Professor Luke Lee’s laboratory, in addition to numerous extracurricular projects, patents, publications, and industry experience. He is currently conducting research at Cold Spring Harbor Labs in New York before beginning graduate school at MIT this Fall. His name has been added to the perpetual award plaque in the Bioengineering Department offices.
Choosing a recipient of the Departmental Citation is one of the most difficult decisions of the year, and the Department would like to congratulate all of our students on their outstanding achievements.
