Graduating BioE senior Tu Tran has been awarded one of the 2010 Chancellor’s Awards for Public Service.
These annual awards recognize students, staff, faculty and community partnerships that embody UC Berkeley’s tradition of public service and commitment to improving our local and global community. They are offered in the categories: public service, research by faculty, leadership by faculty, and programs or projects.
We are proud to announce that Tu, also an ASUC senator, received one of two “Undergraduate Student Awards for Civic Engagement”. Tu has been a dedicated student, active in student and community organizations, including assisting in the founding of BEAM, Berkeley Engineers and Mentors, a K-12 outreach group.
We’re proud to note that Bioengineers have a history of recognition for outstanding public service, with past award recipients including: undergrad Xiao-Yu Fu and Professor Jay Keasling.
Congratulations Tu!
