Bioengineering junior Ritankar Das has been awarded the prestigious Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program. Das started at Berkeley at only 15 years old and is a double major in bioengineering and chemical biology, with a minor in creative writing. He has a diverse set of accomplishments, from establishing the American Chemical Society chapter on campus to founding a nonprofit organization that encourages disadvantaged students to pursue careers in science and math.
The Barry Goldwater Scholarship Program was created to encourage outstanding students to pursue careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering and to foster excellence in those fields. Congratulations Ritankar!
