A new cellscope in education project, “Smartphone Becomes Microscope”, is one of six finalists chosen for the Accelerating Science Award Program.
Mr. Saber Khan, a middle school technology teacher, teamed up with recent Fletcher Lab postdoctoral scholars Eva Schmid and Oliver Hoeller to develop a student-ready cell phone microscope, turning a clinical diagnostic tool into a portable device students and teachers could use as a mobile learning laboratory.
Three award recipients will be announced on Monday, October 21 at the Open Access Week kickoff event, hosted by the Scholarly Publishing & Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) and the World Bank.
