August 10, 2012 –
The new Master’s in Translational Medicine degree, joint between UCSF and UC Berkeley, has been approved by UC President Mark Yudof.
The MTM program, begun in 2010 under the umbrella of the existing joint Graduate Program in Bioengineering, combines aspects of medical research, engineering techniques and business development to enhance clinical health care delivery. The one-year program will now be able to grant its own MTM degree, reflecting its focus on professional development versus an academic Master of Science degree.
