Bioengineering Assistant Professor Amy Herr has received a grant from the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance to fund the new Bioengineering Capstone Design course, BioE 192.
UC Berkeley’s Department of Bioengineering strives to meet a societal need to educate our next cadre of bioengineers in the challenging area of medical technology for in-home healthcare. The NCIIA course grant will foster maturation and expansion of the existing BioE design project course, which is a culminating educational milestone in the UC Berkeley BioE undergraduate curriculum. With the support of the NCIIA, student teams focus on the technical and business challenges of “Bringing Healthcare Home”.
NCIAA Course and Program Grants are awarded to faculty and staff at colleges and universities to help improve existing curricular programs or build new programs in invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Congratulations to Amy and our new Design Course!
