AprilĀ 2003
The Berkeley-Stanford Innovators’ Challenge is a design contest in which engineering and science students from Berkeley and Stanford present their research to prominent industry leaders, famous technologists, and venture capitalists to compete for $25,000 in prize money. This year, we have 14 teams from Berkeley in the finals — most are Ph.D. projects, with some post- docs, professors, and undergraduates competing as well. I am very happy to report that this year, there are MANY wonderful BioE entries from Berkeley!
The finals will be held at Stanford University, Alumni House, next Saturday, April 19 from Noon-6pm.
Who are the judges?
Judges include prominent technologists from research labs, industry, and venture capital community. Former judges have included the founder of Hotmail, Timbre Technologies, directors of DailmerChrysler Labs, Siemens Labs, ST Microelectronics, Microsoft, executives from Applied Materials, Lockheed, Agilent and partners from Sevin Rosen Funds, Sofinova Ventures, Diamondhead Ventures.Judges have a wide variety of experience in many technology fields and will be prepared to judge projects outside of their main area of expertise. No one particular technology area will be over represented in the set of judges.
